Chemical Peels

What Is a Chemical Peel?

A chemical peel is a treatment for the facial skin where a chemical solution gets applied to the skin. Chemical peels exfoliate the skin gently and without abrasion. This chemical works to peel off the top layers. After this, the skin that grows back is smoother and revitalized. Choosing a light or medium peel means you may have to undergo the treatment more than once to get the desired outcome.
Chemical peels are effective procedures to get rid of wrinkles, discolored skin, and scars. This treatment is very effective for skin conditions on the face. By chemically resurfacing our skin’s superficial layers with peeling solutions, we can improve its appearance.
Chemical peels can be done alone or incorporated with other cosmetic procedures like laser Genesis, laser Acne, and photo rejuvenation to build a more complete treatment plan or to improve the treatment’s outcomes.
Also, they can be done at distinct depths, starting from the light ones to the deep type. For the deeper chemical peels, you get more-dramatic results. However, they also take longer to recover from after completing the process.

How Do Chemical Peels Work?

As part of a chemical peel, a serum is applied for just a few minutes to the face, causing the outermost layer of skin to shed.

At Unique Clinic, our skin care specialist will cleanse and prepare your face, then by a brush, cotton swab, or gauze apply a peel tailored to your skin type. This peel will stay on your face for approximately five minutes, after which the chemical peel will be removed using the neutralizing solution or washed and thoroughly cleaned. As soon as the chemical peeling is complete, a moisturizer will be applied to your skin. All exposed skin will also be protected with an SPF.

Type of Chemical Peels

During your chemical peel consultation, we will discuss your skin type and condition to select the best peel formulation for you.
Depending on the skin conditions you’re dealing with using this procedure, you’ll select a chemical peel in one of three levels:

Light Chemical Peel

With a light (superficial) chemical peel, you can effortlessly peel off the outer layer of your skin (epidermis). This chemical peel is best for dealing with acne, fine wrinkles, dryness, and uneven skin tone. We recommend undergoing a light peel every two to five weeks.

Medium Chemical Peel

A medium chemical peel helps you easily get rid of skin cells from the epidermis and areas in the upper part of your middle layer of skin (dermis). This degree of chemical peel works effectively for the treatment of wrinkles, uneven skin tone, and acne scars. It is advised that you go over the procedure to accomplish or retain the desired effect.

Deep Chemical Peel

Deep chemical peel goes even deeper than the last two to yank off dead skin cells. At Unique Clinic, we mostly recommend one for deeper scars, wrinkles, or precancerous growths. This particular treatment doesn’t need repeat sessions to get the complete desired result.

How Do You Get Ready for the Chemical Peel Treatment?

Start by choosing a specialist with enough proficiency in matters concerning the skin and the right procedures. It would be best if you had the best specialist, and that’s what we promise at Unique Clinic. The effects it yields can vary and depend on the mastery of the person administering the peel procedure. When done improperly, a chemical peel can lead to complications, including infection and permanent scars.

Before you get a chemical peel treatment, our specialists will likely:

Go through your medical records

Get set to answer questions about existing and prior medical conditions and any medications you have taken in recent times. Also, be ready to answer questions about any cosmetic procedures you’ve had.

Conduct a physical check-up

Our specialist will inspect your skin and the area to be treated to determine what type of peel you might benefit from most and how your physical features — for example, the tone and thickness of your skin — might affect your results.

Talk about what you expect

Ensure you have a conversation with any of our assigned specialists about your enthusiasms, expectations, and likely hazards.

What Are the Likely Results of the Chemical Peels Treatment?

Keep in mind that a light chemical peel increases skin texture and tone and reduces the presence of fine wrinkles. All of these results are minimalist at the beginning but rise with continual treatments. With a medium chemical peel, the treated skin will be smoother than usual. As for a deep chemical peel, you’ll notice a stunning improvement in the look and feel of treated regions.

Regardless of what your needs might be, at Unique Clinic, we’re always on hand to satisfy all of your cosmetic needs.
